The ENGEO Dream Trust 3 hour MTB Fundraiser

Founded in 2013, The Dream Trust was established by the employees at ENGEO out of their desire to give back to the communities that have helped ENGEO grow into the company it is today.

The Dream Trust is funded directly by the individual employees at ENGEO, ENGEO itself and anyone else who would like to support the organisation along the way.

The Dream Trust isn’t just about raising funds either, the staff at ENGEO love to roll up their sleeves and get their hands dirty, while helping the community wherever we are needed. To date The Dream Trust has supported a bunch of deserving people who just need a little helping hand in life.

This April, the ENGEO Dream Trust and Christchurch Adventure Park are teaming up to run an event to raise funds for kids that need a little extra help to get out and onto bikes.

With CAP making our awesome Port Hills even more accessible for mountain biking, we want all Christchurch kids to experience how great riding is, however for some the cost to get started is prohibitive. That’s why we’ve kicked off this annual fundraising event this April.

High-school students aged between 12 and 17 years from all over Christchurch will have the opportunity to be nominated, or to nominate themselves, for support to give mountain biking a crack, thanks to this partnership between ENGEO Dream Trust and the Christchurch Adventure Park.

The proceeds raised will go to developing a 'Riding Scholarship' for ten youths to come mountain biking. This will include providing a bike, lessons at CAP and a lift pass to ensure they get up the hill and practice their skills regularly. From that group of ten, we will offer full year scholarships to those that show the greatest promise and enthusiasm for more.

The Event

When: On 6th April, Christchurch Adventure Park will play host to a 3 hour event. Gates will open at 8:00 am with the race starting at 10 am. Prize giving will follow at 1:30 pm.

Who: This can be completed as individuals or in teams of up to 4 people. 

Course: There will be a 'Race Village' where you can set up tents, bring up listen to music, refuel, and make a day out of it.

If you intend on bringing a tent/gazebo, please note that on your entry form when you register for the event.

The course:

  • Competitors will be able to ride any open trails within the Adventure Park. 

  • All open trails will also be open to general public so be courteous and beginner and intermediate riders have right of way.

Winners: The winners will be individuals/teams that have completed the most laps in 3 hours.

There will be prizes for first, second and third place across teams;

First and second male and females in the individual categories;

Fastest lap;

Best dressed team;

Best team name

Cost: 

  • 3 Hour Individual: $50pp

  • 3 Hour Team: $160 per team of up to 4 people 

Race Village: We will have portaloos available at the race village along with water and hopefully some refreshments (coffee and beer!). You are welcome to bring your own food and we will have some snacks available to purchase. Unfortunately you are not able to bring your own alcohol or have any naked flames (no BBQs).

Bad Weather: In the event of bad weather the event will be cancelled. The call to cancel will be made by 7 pm the day prior.
