WALKING TRAILS

When it comes to walking trails in Christchurch there is no other place quite like the Christchurch Adventure Park.
Our unique walking trails are completely free to use and only 15 minutes from the centre of town.
The reason we’re so unique is that you will see and experience sights and views of Christchurch not seen from any other location.
See and hear zipliners shouting out as they fly by overhead and watch out for the mountain bikers as they come whizzing past, the sense of adventure is all around you.




How many other walking trails in Christchurch offers you a FREE chairlift ride?

That’s right if you walk up to our uphill walking/hiking trail you can choose to ride the chairlift back down for free.
If walking uphill isn’t your thing, you may enjoy our forest loop walking trail. Keep your eyes and ears open for the sights and sounds of native birds as you enjoy a 45-minute loop trail through a unique pine forest.
With these two epic walking trails so close to the centre of Christchurch you’d be mad not to check them out!

Stop by the café to treat yourself to something delicious and relax on the deck afterwards.

We even have fairy doors hidden around the village for the kid's entertainment.

The walking trails are open during Park opening times only. 
Please check the Park Status before walking.

Enjoy a return walk through the trees and spot some NZ native birds as you go, as well as some hidden surprises along the way!

The start and end of the track can be found behind the Adventure Park Café, the perfect spot to enjoy a well-earned drink after your walk!

The uphill trail can be accessed via the Village car park or drop into Guest Services for a map.
This is an energetic walk up to the top of the hill, take in Christchurch's panoramic views from the Southern Alps across to the Pacific Ocean, while watching bikers and zipliners whiz past.

If you wish to take the Chairlift back down there are a few things you need to know

No children under 1m are allowed to ride the Chairlift

Children aged 7 and under must be accompanied by an adult while on the chairlift. (one adult per child)

The Chairlift will close one hour before the Park closes

On days of high winds, the lift may be put on hold

If you simply want to ride the chairlift, up and down, purchase a Sightseer Pass



Note
Dogs are allowed in the village at the Park.
However, they are not allowed on any of the walking or biking trails.
