New to the Park? Here's how it works

  1. Choose a pass. A Single Uplift is one ride up the chairlift. A Day Pass gives you unlimited chairlift rides for one day. For adults, a Day Pass costs less than three Single Uplifts.
  2. Bring a bike or hire one. You need an approved helmet and closed-toe footwear to ride. Our half-day and full-day hire packages include a bike, protective gear and a lift pass.
  3. Preview the trails. Every trail is filmed top to bottom, so you can see the features before you ride them.
  4. Start easy. 70% of people who injure themselves at the Park do so on their first or second lap. Warm up on an easier trail first.
  5. Save the patrol number. Ride with a phone. For emergency help on the trails, call our patrol team on 0508 727 572.

First time on a mountain bike, or first time at a bike park? Our Intro to Riding lesson covers the basics, shows you how to load the chairlift and takes you down the beginner trail with an Instructor.

Lessons and coaching

A lesson is the easiest way to get started and a good way to build confidence for bigger trails. Our instructors work with beginners through to experienced riders.

Families and younger riders

Riders under 10 ride free and must be accompanied by an adult. An adult riding with a child under 10 can buy a half-price Chaperone Pass. How the Chaperone Pass works

Supervision for riders under 14

In New Zealand, it is against the law to leave a child under 14 without making reasonable provision for their care or supervision.

Christchurch Adventure Park does not provide this supervision unless your child is enrolled in a coaching session or School Holiday Programme. Parents and caregivers must make sure riders under 14 are adequately supervised. At a minimum, riders under 14 must:

  • not ride alone
  • carry a mobile phone
  • know what to do in an emergency
  • check in with a supervising adult after every lap.

Risk Acknowledgement form

All riders must sign a risk acknowledgement form. If a rider is under 18, a parent or guardian must sign when a pass is purchased.

Code of Conduct

At Christchurch Adventure Park, we’re dedicated to creating a safe, respectful and fun environment for everyone — whether you’re here to ride, zip, hike, or simply enjoy the scenery. To help protect this experience, we ask that all staff, guests, and visitors follow our Code of Conduct.

The Code of Conduct sets clear expectations for behaviour in the Park and outlines the steps we’ll take if unsafe or unsuitable behaviour occurs. This includes how we handle misconduct, our approach when minors are involved, and the standards we expect of both guests and staff. Our focus is always on safety, respect, and ensuring the best possible experience for all.
