Reporting to the General Manager, the Head of Experiences is responsible for key adventure experiences including The Zipline, The Rush, Guided Walking Tours, and Sightseeing. This is a newly created role that will be central in delivering world-class unforgettable experiences, so that guests return time and again.

You’ll work at both strategic and operational levels, combining strong business acumen with a genuine love of storytelling, people, and the outdoors.

 

What You’ll Be Responsible For

Lead and Evolve World-Class Attractions:

  • Ensure each experience delivers on safety, excitement, and storytelling.

  • Monitor and improve attraction performance, customer satisfaction, and revenue.

  • Drive guest numbers and marketing initiatives for these attractions

  • Help shape the future of our experience offerings with new products and seasonal events.

Inspire a High-Performing Team:

  • Lead and mentor supervisors and frontline teams to foster a culture of excellence, engagement, and growth.

  • Ensure staff are well-trained, well-supported, and aligned with our brand values.

  • Embed a strong storytelling culture into every guest interaction.

Develop and Grow the Role:

  • Own P&L for key experiences and work with leadership to deliver strong commercial outcomes.

  • Collaborate across departments, from marketing to operations, to drive visitation and guest spend.

  • Present updates to the Board and contribute to strategic planning and innovation.

 

About You

We’re looking for someone who’s just as passionate about people and leadership as they are about outdoor adventure and guest experience. You’ll bring:

  • 5+ years' experience in a senior experience, tourism, or attractions role.

  • Proven success in leading teams and hitting commercial and sales targets.

  • A creative, strategic mindset paired with an ability to get things done.

  • A passion for excellent customer engagement, putting the guest at the heart of all that they do.

  • Confident in storytelling and training.

  • A full NZ Driver’s Licence, and the legal right to work in NZ.

  • Flexibility to work weekends, public holidays, and occasional evenings.
