Intro to Riding

Experience riding at the Park

Even if you've been riding for years this introduction will give you the fundamentals of riding gravity-focused bikes in a lift assisted Bike Park.

The session starts in our skills area with an introduction to the equipment and the fundamentals of staying balanced and comfortable while braking and cornering. Once comfortable with the basics your Instructor will show you how to load the lift and guide you down the beginner trail. The learning continues on the trail with the goal of staying balanced, controlling your speed, and finding flow through the rollers and corners. When you pop out of the forest at the bottom of the trail and roll back into the village, you'll understand why we love riding bike parks.

Bikes:

You are welcome to bring your own bikes, but bikes must have two working disc brakes, appropriate off-road tires, and at least front suspension. Kickstands are a hazard when Mountain Biking and should be removed. If you are unsure about your bike's suitability, let us know and we'll be happy to take a look at it before the lesson.

Gear:

You're welcome to bring your own equipment but a Full Face Helmet, Knee Armour, and appropriate closed-toe footwear required for all lessons. Elbow Armour, Gloves and eye protection are strongly recommended. Full Face Helmet, Knee & Elbow Armour, and Gloves will be supplied if needed.

Conditions can be different at the top of the lift and can change during the lesson so depending on the weather forecast consider bringing a warmer and/or waterproof layer in a hydration pack.

If you book a lesson and the weather does not allow the use of the trails, the lesson will still go ahead with skill-based learning in the valley so please plan and dress accordingly.
