Crankworx Summer Series Brings World-Class Action to Ōtautahi Christchurch with a New Zealand First Gold Cup Slopestyle Event

Crankworx Summer Series Christchurch will kick off the 2025 Crankworx World Tour from February 13–16, at a brand-new location: Christchurch Adventure Park. This year’s Summer Series promises four days of world-class action, featuring three internationally broadcasted events: Redemption Downhill, Pump Track Challenge and a New Zealand first - a Gold Cup Slopestyle event, as part of the FMBA Gold Cup. The event will unveil a brand-new Downhill course, Gold Level Slopestyle course and head-to-head Pump Track, built specifically for the festival, all of which will cement a legacy for Christchurch with the support of Christchurch NZ and NZ Major Events.

Day passes are priced between $16 and $27, with multi-day options also available—an ideal gift for the holiday season. The festival will offer free entry on Thursday, February 13th, and Friday, February 14th and offers Christchurch Adventure Park Annual & Summer pass holders free entry for the event duration, providing a unique opportunity for locals and alike to get a taste of the action.

With direct flights connecting Christchurch and Rotorua, 2025 offers an unparalleled opportunity to experience both Crankworx festivals in one seamless adventure.

Crankworx Rotorua Returns to 5-Day Format

Running from March 5–9 2025, at Skyline Rotorua, the Crankworx Rotorua festival returns to the original 5-day format. Fans can look forward to a revamped Downhill course on Mount Ngongotahā, making a comeback after a two-year hiatus. With all-new events packed into a shorter timeframe, the festival is designed to deliver ultimate value for spectators.

The new ‘Anytime Pass’ for Crankworx Rotorua makes it easier than ever for fans to catch the action, adding flexibility and affordability. Locals Days have been extended and will now run from Wednesday, March 5th, through Friday, March 7th"The new Anytime Pass for Rotorua is all about making it easy and affordable for everyone to experience the event. Our new price points are designed to keep more money in fans’ pockets, so they have more choice about where to spend their hard-earned dollars” Tibble adds.

After the challenges faced during the 2024 Crankworx Rotorua Festival, including a boycott by male Slopestyle athletes, Crankworx, the FMBA, and the Slopestyle athletes have worked closely together together to address concerns around remuneration, athlete support, and decision-making processes. 2025 will see increased prize money, new decision-making processes, and enhanced communication frameworks, setting a new standard for collaboration. The 2024 Crankworx World Tour concluded on a high note, with the male Slopestyle athletes competing in Cairns, Innsbruck, and Whistler alongside the female rider’s field.

Win Big with the 'Unlock the Adventure' Competition

In addition to 2025’s event line up, Crankworx is offering the chance to win big with the ‘Unlock the Adventure’ competition.

The grand prize is a decked-out Ultimate Adventure Vehicle, valued at over $80,000 NZD. Fans can enter by purchasing tickets, sharing the competition on social media for extra chances to win and signing up for the Crankworx NZ database.

“We wanted to give our fans a shot at something new and extraordinary,” Tibble explains. “one lucky fan will win a chance at the grand prize, and if they fall short, they will walk away with a pretty incredible consolation prize—a trip for two to the 20th edition of Crankworx Whistler in August 2025.”
