Are you comfortable riding green tracks and keen to ride some blue trails, master body position and braking, and even test some technical riding?

Join us on Saturday mornings for our Women's Only Progression Sessions!

Note
It is expected you can ride a bike comfortably and down the Parks green trail, Duncan Donuts.

Suitable for women 18 years and older.

Session 1

Building a Solid Foundation

Objective
Develop a strong body position and effective braking technique.


  • Master Your Body Position
    Discover the right body position to stay balanced and gain confidence on any terrain. We’ll practice positioning to help you ride smoothly and safely.
  • Braking Basic
    Get comfortable using both front and rear brakes effectively to control your speed and maintain stability. We’ll practice techniques to help control your speed smoothly and safely.  
  • Learn to Pump
    Enjoy feeling more in control and fluid on your bike by learning to pump.  This technique will help you build a solid foundation for cornering, jumping and technical riding.
  • Cornering Fundamentals
    Combine your body position and braking skills to ride through corners confidently. We’ll work to help you identify the best line and making smooth turns.  
  • Trail Scanning
    Develop the skill to read and assess the trail ahead. Effective trail scanning will help you navigate technical sections with ease and improve your overall riding experience.

Session 2

Applying the Fundamentals

Objective
Begin putting together the fundamentals and testing it on some Blues!

  • Expand Cornering Skills
    Begin expanding the basic cornering skills into body lean, hip rotation and more braking points!
  • Work on Body Position for Obstacles
    Get comfortable using the foundational body position to ride over rocks, roots and more challenging terrain.
  • Practice Line Selection for Technical Sections
    Identify smoothest and most efficient line choices for more technical trails.
  • Practice flow and rhythm
    Strive to maintain a smooth flow on the trail by linking sections together with minimal loss of momentum.
  • Get that Flow Down!
    Begin to discover how you can ride the trail, not the trail riding you!
    Strive to maintain flow on trails with minimal loss of momentum.
  • Develop Technique
    Revisit and refine what we've learnt in the previous sessions.
    Making sure your riding technique is dialled!

Session 3

Put Lessons 1 and 2 to the Test!

Objective
Begin to test everything on more challenging trails and get a little taste for jumping and drops!

  • Line Choice on more Technical Trails
    We’ll begin looking at more challenging rock gardens and how to determine the smoothest and most enjoyable lines!
  • Learn Technical Manoeuvres 
    Practice a few advanced techniques, such as wheel lifts, to overcome trail obstacles and build a foundation for jumping and dropping.
  • Take these Drop and Jump Techniques to the Trails
    Begin testing these techniques on different drop and jump styles.
