FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How long does the Night Zipline tour take?
The full zipline tour is about 2.5 hours.

What should I wear?
Closed toe shoes are essential. Depending on the weather, you’ll need light breathable materials on hot days and multiple warm layers on cold days. You’ll be wearing a full body harness so choose clothing wisely to match weather conditions and trousers or shorts are recommended.

How many ziplines are there?
New Zealand’s highest and longest ziplines in a 4 zip adventure. Not one, but four great zips – all a little bit different. The first one offers amazing panoramas which seem to stretch forever. The second gets you ready for the highest in NZ, soaring at 150m up. Then number 4 takes you above and through trees for just over a kilometre.

Can I take a camera on my zip ride?
Sure, as long as it’s tethered to you in some way so you can’t drop it.

Is it safe?
Safety is our top priority. We are AdventureMark approved and audited annually. Our guides are professionally trained and we never compromise on your safety.

Are there any restrictions?
Yes unfortunately there are. You need to weigh between 27kgs (60lbs) and 125kgs (276lbs) and be a minimum of 122cm (4ft) tall. Children under 13 years of age must be accompanied by someone aged 16 or older. You can’t be pregnant or suffer from any heart condition, have any broken, fractured or recently dislocated bones or have any previous back or neck conditions.

Ziplining is all about adventure! We zip in all conditions, including rain. Please bring appropriate clothing and wear closed toe shoes. Layers are always recommended, even if it seems warm. Wear waterproofs if it’s looking wet and remember your sun protection on the sunny days.

The Long Ride involves a short walk from the vehicle to the start of the zipline, you will need to be prepared to walk for approximately 20 minutes (2km) on varying terrain which can be steep and uneven in places. You will also be carrying your equipment which consists of a helmet, harness and trolley.

During winter months, be sure to wear warm clothing. The temperature can feel colder once on the zipline and to be as comfortable as possible we recommend you bring a beanie, thermals, gloves, and warm and/or waterproof jacket.

If the park is closed due to weather conditions and your zip tour is cancelled, Guest Services will make contact with you to reschedule free of charge or arrange a full refund.
